It's been a while between layouts.....

okay I have a little confession to make.  Yes I do run an online scrapbooking store, but do I scrapbook???  Well the answer is sometimes.

If you've known me for a while you would know my all time favourite is cardmaking because I love the simplicity and ease of making cards.  Layouts can often take a lot longer to put together and therefore get thrown on the back burner so to speak.

Anyway I finally did a layout on the weekend and to be honest I miss the documenting and preserving of those everyday memories, of which photos evoke.  I am also falling in love with life journaling of late due to the online classes I have been taking.  This is the very personal side of scrapbooking which I haven't shared on this blog as yet. I may share a page here or there in the future.

So here is a layout celebrating the lovely and unpredictable teen in the house.  Selfies seem to be the flavour of the these teen years.  Taking a photo of yourself and uploading it to social media sites or sharing it with your friends to get 550 million likes from them.  Really worth documenting this time in a teens life as I believe it all stems from fitting in and self esteem building for the teen in 2012.  Very different from our life and times, but we have to embrace and work with how they feel they need to do it today.

Feeling a little under the weather this week with a head cold so I'm having a home day.  I have my son home with me who I think has gone out in sympathy complaining of a sore throat and a headache and a sore tummy.....?????

Anyway I wanted to show you some new twine colours that arrived this morning from The Twinery.  You can purchase all the twine colours here.  We have a huge selection on site of different thicknesses and quantities.  You will definitely find a colour and size to suit any need you have.

Last week I also recieved some new multicoloured twines in the 100m rolls.  These are brand new and the colours available so far are below.  Pink/Purple/White and Pink/Green/White.

Finally Just before I go I wanted to showcase these cute little embellishments that I also added to the store last week from Prima and My Minds Eye.  The little tiles below are so adorable and so are the little mini trinkets and frames.  Sometimes I wonder could scrapbooking supplies get any more gorgeous!!!!

Okay that's all from me.  I am off to pack some more orders, do a little more cleaning and spend some time with my son before school pick up. xo

Handmade Boys Card

Quick post today

Okay so I took the stamp set (see previous two posts) and whipped up a birthday card for a boy.  My son was was attending his friends party on the weekend, it was the perfect excuse to use some new supplies that have just arrived.

Supplies used to make this card

My Minds Eye Fine and Dandy Tickled Pink Stamps
Vandoros Ribbon to be added to site soon

Love this patterned paper the chevron pattern looks likes waves, goes perfect with the sailing boat chipboard shape.

The banner once again was stamped from the stamp set above, this time I cut around it leaving a tiny white border.

Friday Round Up

Happy Friday Everyone

I can't believe it is here already.  Where does the week go????  I have spent so much time behind the scenes loading lots of new gorgeous products  in store and moving items to our sale section.  A big reshuffle is perhaps the best word for it.  To me its the mundane side of running an online store but it just has to be done.

Anyway after I posted the video last Monday, I had a customer request a custom made card for a 21st.  I decided to use the leftover supplies from the video I had made as well as the same overall theme.  (See video in post below) I thought it would be cool to show another card made using the same patterned papers, a flower from the Prima Strawberry Kisses Flower pack.  The 21 (number) is cut using my cricket.  With just a handful of great quality supplies you can have a productive, fun, cardmaking session and make several different looks and styles.

What do you think???

So it wouldn't be fair to say that I had added lots of new products to the site without showcasing some here.  All these products can be found in New Arrivals.  My creative obsession with Christy Tomlinson, (so excited to offer some of her new She Art line in my store).  I have already given the Vintage Doily template a run.  take a look at my dimensional flower on the canvas below.  So so so so inspired by her.

This technique was created using the doily template above and a slathering of texture paste.  Note:  It took a couple of days to dry but is was so worth it, I love it.  Thanks Christy for your inspiration.  This canvas is a work a progress, not sure where its heading but I am not getting attached to any outcome with it just playing with different techniques.  The best way to create......

Check out Christy's video here using some of her range including this same template.

This post ended up being longer than I had orginally planned.  I had better make a start on my Friday to do list.  My daughter is due back from camp today and has requested Homemade Ricotta Gnocchi for dinner.  Today will be a mixture of cleaning, working cooking and baking before a busy weekend.

Have a great day.
